Write briefly about the Duguit’s theory of duty.

[Jurisprudence] According to Duguit, there is no such concept as ‘legal right’. He says that ‘no one has any other right than always to do his duty’. According to him, the basis of law is the objective fact of ‘social solidarity’. It is social law of social solidarity (mutual interdependence) which alone satisfies individual needs through exchange and division of labour on the basis which each perform their mutual duty in society.
