What conditions must be fulfilled to hold master liable for the torts committed by his servant?

A master is liable for all acts done by his servant which he does in the course of his employment. For holding a master liable for the torts committed by his servants the following three conditions must be proved:

(i) there must be relationship of master and servant between the defendant and the person committing the torts.

(ii) tortuous acts must have been committed by the servants in the course of his employment.

(iii) the act must be a wrongful act authorised by the master or a wrongful and unauthorised mode of doing some act authorised by master.
