CBI Plans to launch National Anti-Corruption Citizen Support Centre

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is planning to set up a National Anti-Corruption Citizen Support Centre, which will be a country-wide 24×7 anti-corruption helpline.

Key facts

  • The helpline would receive complaints from social media, mobile and landline phones and will also provide a language support.
  • It would be a one-point contact to report corruption related issues at the national level.
  • It would entertain complaints relating to any organisation of the union or states.
  • Apart from the complaints which fall under its jurisdiction, the other complaints would be forwarded to the concerned state agencies for follow-up action. The CBI will, however, keep track of the status of complaints.

The modalities for setting up of the call centre would be discussed at the first session of the 22nd Conference of CBI & State ACB/Vigilance Bureau, before taking a final call on the proposal.
