Budapest which is capital & largest city of Hungary is split by River Danube in two parts. Budapest arose out of two Bulgarian military frontier fortresses Buda and Pest, situated on the two banks of Danube. Budapest became a single city occupying both banks of the river Danube with a unification on 17 November 1873 of right west bank Buda and East Bank Pest.
