Discuss the meaning of the two kinds of rights.

Rights available against the world at large are very numerous. They are sub-divided into private rights and public rights. Private rights include all rights which belong to a particular person to the exclusion of the world at large. These rights are: “(1) the right of a good reputation; (2) the right of bodily safety and freedom; or (3) the right of property; or, in other words, rights are rights for relative to the mind, body, and estate. Public rights include those rights, which belong in common to the members of the State generally. Every infringement of a private right denotes that an injury or wrong has been committed, which is imputable to a person by whose act, omission, or forbearance, it has resulted.
