Discuss the meaning of the sovereign powers?

Sovereign powers mean powers which can be lawfully exercised only by a sovereign or by a person by virtue of delegation of sovereign powers. Functions relating to trade, business and commercial undertakings and other socialistic activities by a welfare state do not come within the purview of delegated sovereign authority.
