M Ramprasad
IRDA member M Ramprasad is the chairman of the committee constituted to examine the health insurance framework. The committee consists of 11 members with representatives from Irda, life insurance and general insurance companies, academicians in the field of insurance and general insurance council. The committee had submitted its report to Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai). In its report, it recommended insurers have a category of closed-end products (termed pilot products) for this much time. These would cover risks that are otherwise generally declined or excluded, where they have the option to renew or not after five years. This is to encourage new and innovative products. Reference
